Bins set on fire in Cramlington

Posted by The Journal on Nov 9, 09 02:08 PM in News

Arsonists set fire to six wheelie bins in one night.

Firefighters were tied up for almost two hours dealing with a series of blazes in the same area of Northumberland.

The alarm was first raised at 6.35pm last night, when two wheelie bins were set alight in the Durham Road underpass, between Northburn and Shankhouse, near Cramlington.

Firefighters then attended bin fires at Cateran Way, Axminister Close and Tindale Avenue, before alerting the police.

Crews from Cramlington, Blyth and Morpeth helped to extinguish the fires, receiving their last call at around 8pm.

All of the fires are believed to have been deliberate.
