Residents' thoughts with blaze employees

Posted by Alan Savage on Nov 21, 08 06:06 PM in Bloggers

Cramlington residents are praying no one was injured in the Randstad car part distributors warehouse blaze that saw massive plumes of black smoke engulf large parts of the town and stretch as far as North Tyneside earlier this afternoon.

Locals quickly became concerned when seeing clouds of smoke rise hundreds of feet into the air, which were quickly followed by traffic tailbacks throughout the town, as roads were sealed off by Police close to Nelson/Bassington Industrial Estates.

Many residents frantically telephoned relatives who were either living or working in the vicinity, with one local resident saying, 'We are all shocked at the scale of the fire and we only pray that no one is injured.'

It is thought that as many as 14 fire appliances may have attended the scene.
