Cramlington cafe creates jobs
A Cramlington cafe is cooking up jobs as well as food for people with disabilities.
Café Azure -- which has just recently opened its doors off Station Road -- has already created three jobs for disabled people, with plans for more in the future.
The cafe was built by disability charity Azure Charitable Enterprises to be an eco-friendly, state-of-the-art operation attached to the organisation's garden centre.
The jobs fit with Azure's ethos to improve the lives of people with a disability in the North East and create an environment in which they can pursue fulfilling careers.
Peter Elliott OBE, Chief Executive of Azure Charitable Enterprises, said: "Azure Charitable Enterprises currently supports hundreds of disabled people across the North East, striving to offer training and employment opportunities wherever we can.
"The opening of Café Azure is not only good for the Cramlington community, but also gives us another outlet in which to offer work to those who may struggling finding positions elsewhere."
The cafe serves hot meals, salads, snacks and desserts, alongside a wide range of coffees.
The 25-year-old charity also owns and operates the adjoining Azure Garden Centre, plus a garden products cash and carry, a landscape gardening service and a commercial printing firm across Northumberland to raise money for the charity.
